First day for TR!

This group was a little more cautious coming into a new place, but quickly became comfortable after we sang a few songs. It was a busy day filled with singing, reading stories, playing, drawing, eating a snack and much more! I didn't take many pictures because I was busy moving around too!! 

Tradition

This is my 13th year at Hesston College Preschool. I've gotten to know a lot of families over the years. Some families have multiple children, and that's allowed me to get to know the whole crew. It's been a lot of fun! I always enjoy seeing former preschoolers and how they've changed and grown up (literally!). Some families I've known for 1 or 3 or 8 years (depending on how many kiddos come through our program). I call it tradition. It's what the first child did, so now the remaining children do the same thing. 

Here's a family who are sending their 4th (and last) child through preschool.

First day of preschool for MWF!

The children arrived at preschool ready to go! Most of them have attended here before and know the routine and feel pretty comfortable; they marched confidently right into the classroom! We had a great time today!

Preschool Openings!

We have several openings in the TR and MWF classes. The TR class serves children ages 3-5 years old and the MWF class serves children ages 4-5 year old children entering Kindergarten next Fall '18. Please contact Larisa @ larisa.lawrence@hesston.edu or (620)327-8161 for more information.

Preschool starts soon!

Where did the summer go? It's true, preschool starts soon. We look forward to seeing everyone again.
Here is some important information:

Open House at Preschool – Mon, Aug, 21 for enrolled preschool children and families to visit the preschool classroom and meet your child’s teachers!

            TR class come and go during this time slot: 6:30-7:00 pm

            MWF class come and go during this time slot: 7:00-7:30 pm

Preschool begins – 9:30 a.m. – 12 noon

            MWF class – Wed, Aug 23^rd

            TR class – Thu, Aug 24^th

Supplies for Preschool –

·        1 (one) 2 pack of glue sticks

·        1 (one) 10 count of Crayola Classic Markers (classic or bold colors) – does not need to be washable. (They are .97 cents at Walmart.)

·        1 roll of quality paper towel

·        1 3-ring Avery Economy View Binder 8.5 X 11”, 1” White (for your child’s portfolio) – please be sure to get this exact one as we want them all uniform.

·        1 box or bag of snack (Ritz crackers, animal crackers, Cheez its, Cheerios, etc. NO sweet snacks please. The preschool will supplement snack with cheese, milk, fruit or vegetables).

·        A backpack (not required but children enjoy having one!)

Tanganyika!

What a wonderful day at Tanganyika! It seemed like everyone was having a great time.

Pilots in training MWF

I pulled out the airplane simulator from the closet - as requested by a preschooler. This week the children can travel to Africa, Australia or South America to visit different wild animals. Some chose to travel to Florida or Wisconsin. Those are exciting places, too! And we have pretend airline tickets to add to the fun.

We have room in first class! We even had a flight
attendant providing snacks and drinks.
