Happy Birthday, Kansas!

Kansas is 153 years old. According to one child - it should be dead if it's that old. :) It's hard to explain that Kansas is a state not a person to young children.

We have been learning all about Kansas this week. These pictures capture the different "symbols" that are a part of Kansas.

First off...Monday we learned about wind and tornadoes. And Kansas didn't disappoint with wind. oh my! We made kites, but it was too windy and cold to try them out - outside anyway. We improvised.

Coloring our kites. It's serious business.

A new way to fly kites. Indoors. oh well.
