Re-telling stories
One of the reasons I chose the book, The Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry and the Big Hungry Bear is because of the sequence of the story; it's one children can re-tell multiple times and remember the sequence. We read the story once during circle and then the next day retold it with picture cards; the children helped place them on the flannel board...then, some children re-told it again during choice time. I love to see how books come alive for children!!
